Big Cities Little Foodies is an illustrated board book series that taps into the foodie zeitgeist to introduce children to world cultures. While travel-centered children’s books typically include New York, Paris, London, and San Francisco, Big Cities Little Foodies focuses on metropolitan destinations in Asia, through the lens of local food.
It started with the idea of collaborating on a one-off picture book together as a first birthday gift to our children, Adeline and Nolan, who were born one day apart. As designers, we both already loved printed books and were building our children's picture book libraries from favorite authors and illustrators. We wanted to create our own book that could teach them about something dear to us: a city we've both loved and lived in. The theme of travel and food followed naturally, as it was a shared interest and is a huge part of teaching about every culture and heritage.
When will my order be shipped?
Orders are shipped within 2-3 business days.
When will my order arrive?
Domestic (USA) orders are shipped by USPS and typically arrive within 4-6 business days. International orders typically arrive within 1-3 weeks of shipment.
Why is international shipping so expensive?
Sending packages abroad involves transportation and equipment, fuel surcharges, hiring 3rd party carriers for overseas legs of the journey, etc. We'll update our shipping charges if we have the opportunity to lower them, as we understand that shipping is a big consideration for online purchases.
Please note that shipping costs are exclusive of any import tax or customs duties which may apply upon delivery depending on the country.
What if my package is lost or stolen?
Little Picnic Press is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please check with your local mail carrier if you encounter any issues or delays with your delivery.
Where can I buy your books in person?
You can find our books in indie stores around the world, and books are always available for purchase online on our website.

Do you sell on Amazon?
No. As a small business and publisher, we decided early on that we wanted to work primarily with other small businesses and support indie bookstores, who work hard to provide unique spatial experiences and thoughtful curations of books.
